Bio
Maddie Brown is the founder of In Good Company, where she helps purpose-driven organizations and individuals navigate growth, change, and opportunity through philanthropy, organizational strategy, executive communication and coaching, and practical AI enablement. With more than sixteen years in higher education and nonprofit leadership, she understands the relationships that inspire generosity and the systems that help good intentions become meaningful results. Known for her forward-thinking approach and collaborative spirit, Maddie brings clear thinking, practical structure, and a sense of humor to work that can sometimes take itself a little too seriously.
Before founding In Good Company, Maddie held development leadership roles at the LSU Foundation and Baton Rouge Community College Foundation. Her experience spans major gifts, corporate and foundation partnerships, campaign planning, and stewardship, connecting philanthropic investment with educational access, workforce development, and community opportunity. Along the way, she helped build programs, improve workflows, support an organization-wide platform migration, and develop reporting tools for leadership. She mentors emerging professionals through Boston University’s Professional Fundraising Certificate Program and continues her leadership and AI education through programs offered by LSU, Arizona State University/Coursera, Anthropic, Rundown AI, IBM, and Microsoft.
Maddie’s interest in innovation is personal as well as professional. Dyslexia taught her to think differently; technology gave her more ways to put that strength to work. A fundraiser by trade and an AI enthusiast by curiosity, she helps professionals without technical backgrounds make sense of emerging tools and reclaim time for the work, and people, that matter. Her guiding question is simple: “Can we make this easier and still make it excellent?” Integrity, curiosity, tenacity, and humor shape her approach. Based in Baton Rouge with her husband, Rick, their daughter, Ella Grace, and their dogs, Mia and Roux, Maddie grounds her work in faith, family, and community, with the belief that good work happens in good company.
